It is possible to get the version of the library file by running the following command: `nm /usr/lib/mysql/plugin/libaudit_plugin.so | grep 'audit_plugin_version' | grep -P -o '\d+_\d+_\d+_\d+'`. Output will be of the form: `1_0_8_511`. This can be used to determine the version of the audit plugin library without logging into MySQL and performing a query.
